Do I have to pay extra for the warranty? No, the warranty is included in the price of the home.

What is a 'normal' warranty on a new home? The overwhelming majority of manufacturers provide only the first year of coverage which is federally mandated.

What does the warranty cover? Over 40 separate items are covered by the warranty, including central air conditioning and central heat, electrical and plumbing systems, and most major appliances purchased with the home. Structural coverage is 7 years.

If I purchase new appliances at the same time to install in the home, would they be covered by the warranty? Yes, if purchased new at the same time as the home.

How do I file a claim? Call 877-434-3657 for 24/7 service and the claims representative will instruct you on procedures.

What will it cost me to get a covered item fixed? During the first year, nothing. During years 2-7, a $50 deductible applies, but beyond that, all parts and labor on the covered item are covered by the warranty.

What if I sell my house? Just contact the warranty administrator by mail and the warranty coverage can be transferred to the new owner.

How do I activate the warranty? You will be given a warranty activation and registration form whereby the necessary information relating to the warranty will be completed. This will be sent to National Service Company and you can enjoy the peace of mind which you deserve.

I live in a small town; can the warranty representative still service my needs? The manufacturer's service administrator uses National Service Company, which provides national geographical coverage. But if unavailable, the service administrator will contract and pay local technicians for repairs.

Are homes used for rentals covered under the warranty? No, not at this time.

Claim Procedures Years 2 thru 7

When the home is purchased, a warranty card should have been completed. If you have registered the warranty, then simply call 877-434-3657 and give the claim representative your name and address. If the card was not returned, claim representatives will need your home's serial number for identification purposes. Please have this available when you call.

Claim’s employees will ask for your personal information (name, address, phone number, etc.) and then find out which component needs repair/replacement to determine coverage eligibility.

If it is an appliance, we give you the option of using our National Service Company. If you accept, the claims representative will put you on hold, call our special National call center and set up the repair account with our National Service Company. You are connected directly with their agent to schedule the date/time of the service call.

If it is an HVAC, electrical or plumbing problem, we have several hundred contractors throughout the US who are preferred contractors. A National Service Company also handles certain water heaters & some heating/ac repairs in certain areas of the country.

When using contractors other than the National Service Company, we will give you the name and number of the local contractor and let  you call the local contractor to check on availability. If the preferred contractor cannot come out, you are requested to locate your own contractor and have them come out.

We will ask you to have the contractor call us, fax us or email us the information pertaining to the problems you are having and the repairs needed. We negotiate pricing with the local contractor and ask them to bill us. If we can not negotiate appropriate pricing we will pay for the service call and locate another local contractor for the repair.
